Without Regrets was started in June 2011. Prior to this the founders knew three young parents that passed away in less than one year and left behind young children. Without Regrets was founded to provide a service to families like these during a very difficult time. Special memories a child has of a lost parent can last a lifetime. Our mission helps both the parents and the children, this is what makes Without Regrets unique.

Elyssa Parvan – Treasurer
Helping others became a true passion of mine at 12 years old when I began volunteering at a retirement home. I am thrilled to be on the Without Regrets Foundation board so that I can volunteer my time and resources in a whole new way. I am honored to work with Tara who has a tremendous passion for and admirable dedication to the organization.
Originally from Los Angeles, CA, I moved to Austin, TX in 2007. I graduated from St. Edward’s University with a BS in Biology and minor in Spanish. During college I studied abroad in Spain, held various leadership roles such as President of Alpha Phi Omega, and taught English as a second language at El Buen Samaritano.
After college, I briefly worked as a manager at Wendy’s and moved on to work at Life Technologies (Thermo Scientific) as a scientist. I now work in business development at Allen Technologies while completing my Master’s in Business Administration at Rice University.
In my free time, I enjoy bowling, running, singing karaoke, playing board/card games, and watching football. I share a wonderful life with my college sweetheart, Terrence, our 4 year old guinea pig, Milo, and a beautiful boxer/American bull dog puppy, Raja-Lacy.
Tara Ballard - Our Founder
Tara was a government major at UT. After college she worked for a political party and in grassroots lobbying before deciding to move to the non-profit sector. She has worked in fundraising for The Leukemia Society, Local Independent Charities, Independent Charities of America and The Children's Charitable Alliance. She was previously a gubernatorial appointee to the SECC State Advisory Committee. She left this all behind to be a mom. She has two beautiful children that are her greatest achievement but she followed her heart in forming Without Regrets knowing that she is teaching her children valuable lessons about doing things for others and making a difference in people’s lives. She is also an active volunteer with her children’s school district.
Jeff graduated from Fairfield University with a BS in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting. He holds his CPA license in NY, CA, CT and TX. Jeff received his MBA in International Finance from NYU. He currently runs his own consulting firm of high net-worth individuals and start-up companies in Austin.
Jeff received his MA in clinical psychology from Pepperdine University and is a licensed MFT in CA & TX specializing in adolescent issues and the difficult transition for children & their parents from high school to college and Couples Counseling. Until he recently opened his private practice here in Austin he was running an adolescent eating disorder clinic in Beverly Hills.
Spending a lifetime both behind and in front of the camera has also allowed Jeff to quietly run his own independent movie and entertainment production company (prodromal productions) for the last ten years.
But his greatest accomplishments are and will always be his marriage to his wife Miranda and the blessing of parenthood to their two wonderful children, Luciana & Kaspian.
Jeff is both honored and humbled by the opportunity to be able to participate within such an amazing organization and with the truly inspiring people involved with it.
Rebecca is a long time activist in various non-profits with a degree from the University of Texas at Austin. Her non-profit work has been featured in Huffington Post, Rolling Stone and more. She has held leadership marketing positions for the past several years in companies focused on things ranging from SaaS software to the well-being of companion animals.
Rebecca is passionate about the environment, animal welfare and the precious memories she is building with her partner, two dogs and young son, Dakota. She is blessed with warm memories of her recently deceased father and is honored to support other children and parents in the pursuit of their own meaningful experiences.
Todd Sanders is the Plan Controller/HR Manager for Jardine Foods, Inc. He has been in the accounting profession for several years, ever since earning his M.P.A. and his B.B.A. in Accounting from the University of Texas at Austin.
Prior to venturing into the salsa-making business, Todd worked in both public practice and private industry.
Currently, Todd is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). In addition, he is a member of the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants (TSCPA), including the Austin Chapter.
When not crunching numbers, Todd enjoys spending time with his wife and 4 children, whether grilling on a Saturday night or hiking through Austin's amazing trails. Todd and his family love to live life outdoors and are always looking for a new adventure.
My husband, Scott, was diagnosed with cancer in October of 2010, and lost his battle to cancer in April of 2011. To know Scott was to know he loved the NY Yankees. One of Scott's bucket list items was to take our son, Aidan, to Yankee Stadium. While we were not able to make his dream come true, we strongly hope other families will greatly benefit from the Without Regrets Foundation. Sometimes time is all we have and when life presents us with these situations it is vitally important to make the time you have the most loving and memorable it can be, Without Regrets can help you create and enjoy the precious time you have left with your loved one.
May God bless you with strength, the clarity to feel happy when surrounded with sadness, and abounding and bountiful love.Nichole Sala-Grossman

Alex is a 38 year old man with End Stage ALS. He has three children; sons ages 17 and 14 and a 9 year old daughter. Alex wanted to take his wife and children to the Texas Gulf Coast to go fishing because this wonderful family hadn't been to the coast since their oldest son was just a baby, the two youngest children had never seen the beach, and when Alex was younger and healthier fishing was something he really enjoyed doing. Without Regrets sent this family to South Padre Island where they went on a dolphin watching trip and a bay fishing trip. They were also able to take family portraits. Thank you to the ALS Association for referring this family to us.
"THANK YOU!!!! We had a blast. I am glad to have had a chance to come to SPI with my family. I don't know how to word it...but THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart. You have given my family some amazing memories for the rest of their lives.” ~Alex Vargas
